Donate a basketball to at-risk and homeless youth in san antonio

At The Basketball Embassy, we use the universal language of sport to build community and empower emerging leaders. Our Youth Ambassador Program brings our mission to life by teaching basketball fundamentals alongside character-building intangibles to at-risk youth in southside San Antonio elementary schools as well as homeless children at Haven for Hope and SAMMinistries.

Each week, we challenge our kids to take what they’ve learned both on and off the court and apply it in their daily lives. While there’s no need for equipment to practice integrity and selflessness, it’s not easy to apply what they learned on the hardwood without the necessary tools.

Through our brand new “SHARE THE ROCK” initiative, you can ensure the youth (some we currently serve, and others we hope to engage with) in the San Antonio community can continue to play the game they love outside of the one day a week we work with them. Your $50 donation will supply a brand new basketball to boys and girls who don’t have access to one at home, giving them an opportunity to sharpen their skills on the hardwood, continue to engage in physical activity outside of school, and share the game with friends in their neighborhoods.

We’re also aiming to expand our programming into other neighborhoods around the city. If you have a particular child in mind to whom you want to donate a basketball, you can specify their name in the form after adding SHARE THE ROCK to your cart.

All children participating in the SHARE THE ROCK initiative - regardless of whether they’re involved with our Youth Ambassador Program - receive weekly lessons and drills from certified TBE coaches.
