Zach Mason
Originally from Austin, Texas Zach studied electronic media and communications at Texas Tech University before earning his master’s degree in sports management at the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio.
During his time at Texas Tech, Zach as a sports editor of the student newspaper, The Daily Toreador, and also interned for Yahoo! Sports as a staff writer for the affiliate RedRaiderSports.com. After graduating in 2014, he co-founded TexasTop100.com, which has blossomed into one of the premier prep basketball ranking sites in the state. Later, he’d work as a copy editor and page designer for the GateHouse Media in Austin before serving as a communication specialist for the Texas Association of School Boards for three-and-a-half years.
After enrolling at UIW in January of 2019, Zach joined the athletic department as the media relations contact for the men’s basketball team in a graduate assistant role. He started working with The Basketball Embassy two months later, helping to plan and execute the organization’s Building Leadership in Youth through Sport exchange program alongside the U.S Department of State Sports Diplomacy Division and World Learning.
Zach currently teaches English in Seoul, South Korea and despite the time difference he still helps TBE out when he can!
