Spotlight Player: Georges Darwiche
Georges Darwiche (1998 born) from Romania is The Basketball Embassy spotlight player of the month!
Georges is currently playing in the First division men's league, 2nd division, and U20 league for Steaua CSM Eximbank in Bucharest, one of the premier clubs in the country. Georges is currently averaging 15 points, 8 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 2 steals per game. Last year he led his U18 team to a championship and was awarded the tournament MVP.
Georges has also been a key contributor for the U16 Romanian National team (2015) and this year started for the U18 Romanian National Team.
Alex Ardelean, a high level Romanian basketball coach and member of The Basketball Embassy said this about Georges: "Darwiche Georges is one of the most promising young players of Romania. This 6 foot 1 inch combo guard is coming of one of his best seasons. Although he is one of the faster perimeter players in the Romanian League, Georges separates himself from the pack with his competitiveness, great basketball IQ and last but not least, killer instinct. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors."
Georges has big goals to play college basketball at a high level in the United States and get a college degree. He then has the desire to play professionally in a well established country like France, Spain, or Germany.
