The Basketball Embassy Named Finalist for Jr. NBA Program of the Year
The Basketball Embassy has been named one of six finalists for the Jr. NBA Program of the Year award, which recognizes the best of the nation’s top organizations impacting the youth in their communities.
“There was an overwhelming humility that came with this news,” said Chris Dial, founding president of The Basketball Embassy. “I am honored to be in this discussion and proud our organization now exists in this space. I’m looking forward to new connections and new opportunities that will stem from this recognition.”
The winner will be announced Friday, May 17 at the Jr. NBA Youth Basketball Leadership Conference presented by Under Armour in Chicago. The Jr. NBA reviews an expansive set of criteria to determine the award recipient, including how well the program:
Develops fundamental skills on the court and life skills off the court
Offers a variety of opportunities for youth participation
Provides the youth positive exposure to upper levels of basketball
Has a large reach to kids both in the community and beyond
Extends financial support to include those with financial limitations in their events
Gives back to the community through volunteer work
